Introducing Rabbits
Rabbits are friendly, quiet & intelligent
pets that deserve consideration and commitment when being
looked after. There are over 50 breeds of rabbits, and they
come in a variety of sizes and colours.
Rabbits can live indoors or outdoors, but
wherever you put them, they need PLENTY of space to run
around stretch fully. If you keep them outside, you’ll
need to make sure that you go and see them every day; not
just at feeding time, but also to stroke and talk to
them.
Rabbits are sociable animals and like company
of their own kind. A young buck (male) rabbit will be happy
to share its hutch with another rabbit – but you
need to know that if you choose to put 2 male rabbits in
together, they may fight - even if they are from the same
litter, especially when they get older, because they will
both want to be No. 1. A possible alternative is to put
a young doe (female) in with a buck, but you must ensure
that either the buck or doe is neutered to prevent unwanted
kittens (baby rabbits).
